Derrick Jasper and Billy Gillispie talking about transfer

Here are some of the quotes of billy Gillespie and Derrick Jasper about the Transfer.

“The decision to transfer is in no way an indication of my experience playing for UK,” Jasper said. “I feel at this point in my life, it is important for me to be close to my family, and I intend to transfer to a school closer to the west coast where I can see my family more often, and they can see me play.
“It was not an easy decision for me to make, since the fans have been so wonderful and very supportive of my teammates and me. I want to thank Coach Gillispie and the entire UK coaching staff for their guidance and support they have given me these past two years. I have grown a tremendous amount as a basketball player, and most importantly a person and feel it is largely due to the people involved with the UK basketball program.”

And a few words from Coach Clyde:

“It’s a disappointment to lose Derrick, who was fantastic for us both as a person and a basketball player,” UK Head Coach Billy Gillispie said. “He had to battle through some injuries, but he was always willing to sacrifice for the good of the team.
“I appreciate that Derrick was patient and took his time to make certain that this decision was what he felt was best for his future. We wish him all the best. Where ever he decides to attend will be getting an outstanding player who takes his academics very seriously.”

Rajon Rondo and Celtics makeing a BIG Statement

I had a fun time watching the Boston and Detroit game. It was mostly a close game throughout the game.

Let's start again about Tayshaun Prince. His performance last night was a whole lot better than any of the other games in the Eastern Conference Finals. He had only 1 point before halftime but flipped the switch in the third quarter and got 9 points. Plus he held pierce to a everage game. It was not enouph though, to stop Rajon Rondo and the Celtics. Congrats to the Celtics for advanceing to the Finals against the Lakers.

The air Up there

Here is a picture of Jared Carter on the cover of the movie The Air Up There.
Jared did good up in africa last night by having a team high 15 points and Ramon Harris chipped in 8. Their team won 76-64. Good job to them last night.

Detorit in game 6

The Detroit and Boston Game is on tonight and Boston has a game lead. The Pistons I think is worn out in this series. Only because they have to chase the Boston Three Party all game long. That's why I think Tayshaun Prince is not doing good on the offensive end cause he is tired guarding pierce or allan all game long. My apologies to Tayshaun on the previous posts. All night I stayed up and thought about the game and how Tayshaun would do and I think this is where he is going to do good not just on the defensive end but on the offensive end too. Its now or never for Tayshaun Prince. By the way Tayshaun has had a good series about his defense. Paul Pierce had people guard him 100% and still punished them, see, you have to guard him 150% percent to have him average 20 a game. Kudos to Tayshaun. I have the Pistons in game 6 to win to go to game 7 in Boston.

Here is a video of Lindsey Hunter talking about game 6 with Steven A. Smith.

The one-and-done rule

the SEC basketball coaches now want to go to the NBA and challenge the one-and-done rule. The conference formed a sub-committee who includes Bruce Pearl, Billy Donavon, Alabama’s Mark Gottfried and LSU’s Trent Johnson. They are Hoping that the NBA Changes the one-and-done rule. Athletes in my opinion should got to college for basketball for at least 3 years like NCAA football has to go to school for 3-4years before going to the Draft. I have seen some kids come right out of HIGH SCHOOL to the NBA because he wanted to make the big bucks and sign autographs. If they would have gone to school in college for at least 3 years then he would be more experienced and had a better career in the NBA.

Lakers Move On

Looks like the Los angelous Lakers moved on to the NBA Finals by Beating the Spurs 100-92. I really thought that the Spurs could pull it out by winning on the road because they were the most experianced team. At the beginning of the year I had San Antonio at the NBA Finals playing Detroit. Personnally, I can't stand the Spurs but I was really hoping that they would win the series and play Detroit. Thats not going to happen couse not only did they loose the Detroit Pistons will Probably loose in either game 6 or game 7. But this was the only year I had respect for The defending Champs. Kudos for Kobe for makeing the Finals again.

Jared Carter and Romon Harris in Africa

Here are some pictures of Ramon Harris and Jared Carter in action over seas in Africa.

Celtics up by 1 Game

3 to 2

The Pistons lost last night. No shocker there. I don't understand of how the Detroit pistons always choke in the eastern conference finals. Ever since they fired Larry Brown they have not advanced to the NBA Finals. Its like they already have what they need (Championship) from 2004 so they don't need to play anymore. What kills me the most is they play well in one game and then play like they are the last team in the NBA the next. I just don't get it.

Tayshaun Prince once again sucked it up last night by only having 8 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. That's not getting the job done.
Rajon rondo still isn't right with his shot but in my previous post I said that he needs to pass the ball to one of the Future Hall of Famers and don't do anything stupid with the Basketball. He had 10 points 13 assists, and 1 Turn over. That's a huge improvement then his previous games.

If Detroit wants a shot at game 7 then they need Tayshaun to step it up on the Offensive end.
I have the Pistons in Game 6 to go to game 7.

Derrick Jasper officially Gone

Derrick Jasper is officially moved out of Kentucky. This is a guy that if we did not have this season we would have lost up to 6 games. Good luck to Jasper and his basketball career.

Joakim Noah Arrested

Kind of late hearing this news but I just found out that former Florida Gator Joakim Noah just got caught for marijuana possession in gainsville early on may 25. I kind of expected this. For one reason he is in the NBA. He is a Florida Gator. And he got suspended for 1/4 of the year for having altercations with the assistant coach. All that adds up for being a thug. His teamates said that he sucked. Which is true, he didnt show his expectations this year. He didnt show any effort, thats what the coach said, The Bulls wanted to trade him but kept him instead couse of the big trade with Cleveland. This guy got on my nerves in college and now he is getting on my nerves in the NBA as well. He is like the only Bull on that court with his shorts down to his anckles and his shirt tucked out. This guy needs to grow up.

The defending champs head back to L.A. on the brink of elimination

Looks Like the spurs lost again against the Los Angelous Lakers tonight at home and all i have got to sat about that is "WOW". What happened to them last night. I watched the game and I thought man, can Manu Ginobili or Tony Parker step it up. You can't depend on one guy to win in the whole game. Yeah Manu Ginobili hit some big shots at the end of the game, so what! You should hit all of them during the whole game. This is the Western Conference Finals. You are supposed to score. Tony Parker the same to you. The Spurs won 16 strait playoff home games coming into last night and they couldn't even make it 17. You can't expect to win against the Lakers by not running the floor and you ahevto guard them they just stood there like they were lost. You cant not just guard them and hope the ball doesn't go in. It's the NBA. It's going to go in 70 percent of the time. They may have Eva Longoria but they don't have the strong Pistons D.

#1 Player in the Nation Has Kentucky in Top of his List

I just read in an article that John Wall, a 2009 prospect point guard is leading at the top of his list. Hood a 5 star prospect and #1 in the nation overall said the only reason Kentucky is on top of his list is because he has visited them twice. This guy is something special. Some people think if he is on the right team then he might get national player of the year award. I think if he signs with Kentucky which will probably be a long shot becouse Gillespie already has 2 point guards comming in this year and 1 comming in to 2009 he has the potential to be a player of the year. The only bad thing about this is that he will be one and done. He will go to college for one year and then go pros. There is no question about that, but if he signs with kentucky, again a long shot, i am looking at a top 5 in the NCAA polls. He says he will narrow down his list to 5 in the next couple of weeks. Can't wait.

Detroit Pistons Pump Up Video

Tayshaun Prince is the Big Ticket tonight

Tayshaun Prince is on the ticket tonight and some fans are calling him the Big Ticket. For most of the people who watch the NBA Kevin Garnett's nickname is the Big Ticket. I think it's crazy of how Detroit fans are comparing him to Kevin Garnett.

Prediction for Game 4 Eastern Conference

I think the Detroit Pistons are going to buckle down tonight and take care of business and win and go to Boston. Something tells me that Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince is going to explode tonight. I think they will score 20 points each, no I know they will score 20 points each. But they also need help from Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess. Richard Hamilton and Rodney Stuckey has lived up to their expectations now its time for Tayshaun Prince and Chauncey Billups to exceed theirs. IF Detroit loses this game today you can kiss this series goodbye.

For Rajon Rondo all he needs to do is stay calm and give the ball to one of the Future Hall Of Famers and don't do anything stupid.

Cats face Michigan in NCAA opener

The Kentucky Wildcats will Face the Michigan Wolverines in the first round this weekend in the NCAA Tournament. The Kentucky Wildcats baseball team is a 3 seed and Michigan is a 2 seed. They are going to play at Ann Arbor, on Friday, May 30. Here are some other teams from the SEC that's going to play in the tournament.

  • Georgia vs. Lipscomb

  • LSU vs. Texas Southern

  • Alabama vs. East Carolina

  • Mississippi vs. Missouri

  • Arkansas vs. Pepperdine

  • South Carolina vs. Charlotte

  • Florida vs. Tulane

  • Vanderbilt vs. Oklahoma

Mark Coury Transferring?

I just got word that Mark Coury might be Transferring to another school next year. Mark came to Kentucky as a walk on then got a scholarship after Gillespie got to Kentucky. This guy has always exceeded expectations when he first got here. This is going to be a major blow this year to Kentucky by losing not just Jasper but Coury as well. All we can do as Kentucky fans is just wait and hope he still is a Wildcat next year.

Rondo Takes Game Lead

1

2
Last night I watched the Eastern Conference Finals again to see how Tayshaun and Rajon would do. One of them improved and one did not. The one that improved was Rajon Rondo. He looked more aggressive out there going to the basket and took his time setting up the play. He went 5-10 from the floor and had 11 points. That's a big improvement then what he did last game in game 2.

Know lets talk about Tayshaun Prince, what happened to him last night, how about what happened to the Pistons last night. I understand you throw in a clunker once and a while but you don't throw in a clunker at least once in every series since the series you beat LA for the championship, that's not right. The only productive player that night was Rodney Stucky and he is a ROOKIE. Tayshaun looked like he did not even try out there. He even looked lost. He was 2-11 from the floor. That's not going to get the job done. He and Chauncey Billups need to get it going or there is going to be no chance of going to the NBA Finals. Something tells me that there is something up with Detroit's locker room.

WAKE UP DETROIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jon Hood Not Respected

I went on rivals and scout.com today and found something stange about one of our recruits. On Rivals Jon Hood is a 5 star and 19th in the nation overall and 7th with the shooting guards. Now on scout.com it has Jon Hood being a very underrated player by being 15th in shooting guards. I see this kid play he is one of the best in his position. Whoever list these rankings on scout.com do not know what they are talking about. There is a reason why he signed with Kentucky. He is really good.

Kentucky on top of the list

I found out that Hunter McClintock has Kentucky on top of his list and said that it would be really hard to turn down a Big time program at Kentucky. He likes Kentucky, his dad likes Kentucky, his whole family likes Kentucky. He played last night at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions last night at Duke University and came away with 16 points by playing half the game. That's not bad for only half the game.

Did Stuart Scott Just Call Tayshaun Prince Ugly? - Need4Sheed.com

Did Stuart Scott Just Call Tayshaun Prince Ugly? - Need4Sheed.com

I saw a crazy thing a couple of minutes ago and I found a clip on a blog of Tayshaun prince shooting with Stuart Scott commentating on ESPN. Click on the web site to see the clip.

Small Forward to fill in for 2009

Billy Gillispie is still looking for another small froward to fill in for 2009 and the guy who he is hitting hard is Christian Watford. A 4 star on Rivals.com which will more likely rise up in the charts to a 5 star. I have learned that he has Kentucky on the top of his list over Indiana, Louisville , Memphis, Oklahoma and UAB. More about this guy in the future.

Andre' woodson on the cover?

I just found online today that someone mada a cover for andre of the new EA sports college football game. For one thing Andre' will not be on the cover but looking at the picture gives me goosbumps.

Tayshaun Prince on Rajon Rondo

Tayshaun said a couple of words about Rajon and his accomplishments so far in the NBA how he is going to be a great player.

“He was one of those guys there who I thought would be a better pro than he was in college,” said Prince, who scored eight in Game 2. “He definitely showed great things in college, too. He showed the ability to defend and rebound at both ends of the court and I knew that would translate to the pros.
“He’s showing that now, but more importantly, he’s showing he can make big shots, and he’s showing he can run a team. Them Wildcats, you know, they do that.”

Curtis Kelly has Kentucky on top of the list

There is a possibillity that there might be a great transfer comming to Kentucky. Curtis Kelly a 2006 5 Star Recruit on Rivals.com might go to Kentucky from UCONN. If Billy Gillispie pulls this off then there might be, MIGHT BE, a talk of the elite eight or posibly the final four in 2 to 3 years. But you cant really know of how good this guy can be. But I was told that he has kentucky on the top of the list getting this guy can be a major steal. Watch out Vols and Cards.

Quintin Payton Maybe a Wildcat

Looks Like Rich Brooks is heading back to Anderson (SC) T. L. Hanna. He went there in 2004 to recruit Rafael Little and he ended up to be a very nice running back. If Rich Brooks pulls this of by getting this wide receiver called Quintin Payton it looks like Radio will be visiting Kentucky and possibly on the sidelines again.

Rajon Rondo vs. Tayshaun Prince

Last night I got to experiance wittnissing one of the funnest games to watch in the NBA in quite some time. I got to see Rajon Rondo set up the play with 3 hall of famors. I got to see tayshaun prince guard Paul Pierce like it was a piece of cake. Both of the EX Wildcats gave a great show last night but one of them came out on the winning end and the most experianced won and that would be Tayshaun Prince. It was so amazing of how Tayshaun would be really caulm and relaxed when the croud is loud,
1 game to 1
your down by 4 near the end of the 3rd quarter and comes away and hits a shot. How do you do that. Tayshaun played a HUGE role in the Pistons game last night. He didnt score alot like we want to but he got the job done on defense gaurding Paul Pierce and the Celtics.

As for Rajon Rondo. Lets all Hope he is better in the next game. He would pass up every shot when he was wide open. If you are in the NBA you dont pass up a shot especially in the Eastern Confernece game or you can lead to unpossitive plays. As the game went on you could tell that Rajon was gettin fed up with the refs and that backfired on him in the 4th. He did something I have never seen from him. He got a technichal foul. Thats not the Rajon Rondo I know. I cant wait till game 3 in Detroit and how he will respond in that game.

Jared Carter and Ramon Harris to Africa

Jared Carter and Ramon Harris left to Africa last night to play basketball over the summer. Hope they do well over the seas.

Hunter McClintlock going to Kentcky?

Don't sleep on the recruitment just yet for the 2008 class in Basketball. Looks like Billy Gillespie is still looking for another point guard out there to help Liggins and Porter if Jasper is gone. The guy he is looking at is Hunter Mclintlock. Who? yeah, I haven't heard of him either but this kid has some skills. Look his name up on youtube and you'll see him cross over people like pistol Pete or Michael Jordan. This guy is not even ranked on rivals or scout .com. This guy is (I think) the most underrated player that Kentucky is trying to get. His father said, “Kentucky is in my mind, the #1 basketball state in the country.” That's a good sign of what he might sign with. He will be attending at the UK Elite Camp this year.Lets all hope he signs with Kentucky.

Maurice Sutton to Villanova

One of Billy Gillespie's Last recruits just announced that he will be signing with Villanova at the end of the day. The 3 star recruit on rivals really wanted to go to Kentucky but had no offer from Gillespie. This guy is really a good athlete. He is long. Reminds me more of my favorite player Tayshaun Prince. Good Defensive skills and can hit big shots down the stretch. Don't know why he did not get a guy like that. This guy is the real deal. Kudos for Villanova to pick him up.

Jamaal Magloire Birthday

As all Kentucky Basketball fans should know, Jamaal Magloire's birthday was on may 21. He turned 30. Kudos to him and his b-ball career.

Derrick Jasper Transferring?

Derrick Jasper Transferring?

This is the first post but ill start with Kentucky basketball and derrick jasper. Is he leaving or not. Nobody knows. I read that he is transferring in the Tennessean but i don't think that's true cause that would be on ESPN and all over the Internet. Whether he is transferring or not i think he should make a decision soon so billy Gillespie knows what he is dealing with next year with his team.
